Cool Project Alert:The Vendy Awards

The New York-based Street Vendor Project is holding the first annual Vendy Awards. Go and nominate your favorite street vendor: that reliable cart — perhaps off the beaten path, or maybe just right outside your office — where you go to fill up quickly and affordably with delicious, hot-in-your-hands (or ice cold) sustenance. This is a great way to raise the profile and celebrate the often over-looked culinary arts of the street, and props to the Street Vendor Project — a legal advocacy group fighting for the rights of street vendors here in NYC — for coming up with this great award.
