Cool Project Alert
Danceminute is a very cool website which features “under a minute” videos of dance shot by Monica Gillette. (Found via Hula Seventy.)
I got a bunch of these last year and gave them out as gifts — Stop Talking Cards from Set Editions. And while you’re at it, why not get a pack for yourself. Lord knows you can use them.
This is a very interesting non-photo photo project — Unphotographable.com. The site catalogs, in words, photographer Michael David Murphy’s missed photos, the ones he wishes he had taken but didn’t, for all those reasons that photos are not captured.
Be sure to check out The Storque, Etsy’s excellent new ezine. This is the place to come for all your Etsy news, features, and events info, as well as a place to read contributions from the Etsy community — reviews, articles, how-tos and more. If you have an idea for a story, pitch away. Further details about The Storque can be found here.
Also, speaking of events at Etsy — Spins and Needles will be throwing a crafting party at the Etsy Labs this Friday, Sept. 14. Price of admission is $5, and that covers your crafting supplies AND beer. You can read more about Spins and Needles, which throws events that mix diy project-making with music spun by DJs, here.
Artists, photographers, and writers examine the broken heart in the Untitled Love Project. Think about contributing a piece of yours.
Kirsty Hall is currently involved in a year long mail art project — The Diary Project. She’s drawing on the outside of an envelope, putting something secret inside, and mailing it to herself each day for all of 2007. The envelopes will remain unopened until they can be exhibited as a whole artwork, at which point members of the public will be invited to unseal the envelopes and reveal what is inside of them. Once unsealed, the contents of the envelopes will be posted on the The Diary Project site. Right now at the site you can view the beautiful artwork drawn on the outside of the envelopes. Very cool project! (Which, by the way, I discovered through the What’s Your Project Flickr group — Thanks for posting to the group!)
And he’s spreading the love with his month long tribute to the glory of a good sandwich. He’s designated August as National Sandwich Month, and you can follow his progress here as he documents his celebration of the sandwich (by making sure he eats a good one every day). Now, I’m off to make and then eat a really good sandwich, which is exactly what you’ll do after visiting Keaggy’s site. (Be sure to also check out Keaggy’s excellent Milk Eggs Vodka book).
Check out The Visual Dictionary — a collaborative project that collects and features images of words presented in signage, graffiti, advertising, tattoos and more. (Found via Ali Edwards’ Creative Links.)
