That is a plate of the most delicious home-cooked Southern-style fried chicken, made by our friend Chris. He prepared this meal and invited us over to make a point.

A few weeks back we took him to our favorite joint for fried chicken, because, according to us, this place serves up the “best fried chicken ever.” He dissed it. We had words. He said he would show us fried chicken done right by cooking some up himself.

Well, he was right. We were wrong. And I am so very glad he put his money where his mouth was and proved us so very wrong. My god, I could have eaten that whole plate. I wish I had eaten that whole plate. It was that good. The best fried chicken ever!
